The import of petrochemical products will decrease by one billion dollars

The Director of Planning and Development of the National Petrochemical Industries Company, pointing out that about 1.5 billion dollars of petrochemical products are imported into the country every year, added: With the implementation of 33 Pishran projects in the country, the import of petrochemical products will decrease by 70%.

Pointing out that with the implementation of Pishran projects, about 20 new products will be produced, he added: National Petrochemical Industries Company, in order to diversify the portfolio of petrochemical products, reduce imports and create a balance in the development of the petrochemical industry, the approach of adding value and using current products as feed in It has new projects on the agenda.

Emphasizing that the petrochemical industry’s propulsion projects are defined in 6 chains that include 33 projects, Abbaszadeh said: Investors have come and licenses have been issued for 20 propulsion projects such as acrylic acid, SAP, and propylene oxide. He continued: For the implementation of 33 Pishran projects, an investment of 3.3 billion dollars is needed, and its total capacity reaches 3 million tons.

The Director of Planning and Development of the National Petrochemical Industry Company added: With the development of these plans, while we will not need to import major products, the feed of the downstream industries will be provided.

At the end, Abbaszadeh emphasized that the share of the propylene chain in Pishran projects is 60%.
